Wisconsin Vacation Rental on 20 acres near New Glarus
The Little Sugar River Farm is a vacation rental on 20 acres of garden and orchard close to two bike trails. The property is secluded, surrounded by 2000 acres of wildlife refuge, and ideal for people who want to bike, hike, run, bird, read, and relax. We have been operating the main guesthouse for 14 years, and a large proportion of our guests have returned many times.
The property is less than a quarter of a mile from the 23-mile Sugar River Trail, and five miles from the Badger State Trail. Both trails wind along rivers, through rolling hills, forests, and wildlife areas.
The guesthouse is an award-winning, light-filled house that's suitable for one to three couples. $185/night for one couple; $25 per night for each extra adult; $10/night for each well-behaved child. 5.5% state and county tax is additional. A one-time cleaning fee of $75 is added to the stay.
Less than 30 miles from Madison (all on bike trails), the Little Sugar River Farm is ideal for cyclists and hikers. Because we are surrounded on three sides by the Albany Wildlife Area, the farm is also great for birders and anyone who wants a chance to relax.
"If any of the following appeals to you, this is where you'll want to stay: A home that is a stunning work of art and architecture, simple and inviting, yet luxurious in comfort and amenities. A back porch where you can watch the sun set over prairie, adjacent to a wildlife refuge attracting all manner of birds and butterflies. Thousands of fireflies to match the stars overhead. Barn swallows swooping around the porch in the mornings. ... My husband and I have stayed at more than 40 B&Bs and vacation rentals in Wisconsin over the past five years. This place is in our top 3...if not number-one. We can't wait to return this winter."--review from Julie, repeat guest
