Perfect romantic weekend getaway! Little Sugar River Farm was exactly what we needed for a relaxing trip just a short distance from Chicago. We visited at the end of January, and nothing could be better than reading on the couch, cuddled up by the fire, with the beautiful snowy scenery surrounding us. Frank & Nancy did a terrific job on the house. Everything was perfect - clean (spotless), luxurious (very comfortable bed), and with all the right touches. We took advantage of the surround sound system & the large array of CDs that they have in the house. When we arrived at the house, Frank had a bottle of wine, cheese, and romantic music playing throughout the house. What more could you ask for? We had a great weekend & would highly recommend it for couples who want a quiet and relaxing place with all of the amenities.   Dan & Ali, Chicago

"The lights are thoughtfully placed for reading"

"You outdid yourself with the food--it's delicious, and the portions are huge" Jason, Chicago

To Frank Goodman --

At Little Sugar River Farm, we experienced a wholeness, a merging with the environment that is not possible in the urban setting from which we came.   From the hour of our arrival we experienced being one with the woods, the fields, and the organic vegetable gardens.  It was nice to know that the woods provided the oak and cherry which were used for the flooring and in crafting the cabinets and furniture. Thank you for giving us permission to harvest vegetables from the gardens and green houses. They were at their peak for eating and the variety and gathering were a special treat.  Not in a long time have we eaten such tomatoes.
We very much enjoyed the bike paths and the bikes provided as well as the trails.  The views of the fields and streams and the rolling hills put us in intimate touch with this lovely part of Wisconsin. All in all we experienced a regeneration of spirit and came home with lovely memories to carry with us as we pursue our regular daily chores.  Thank you for a great experience. Sidney and Marilyn, Milwaukee

Thank you for opening up the house that Frank built for the long stretches of conversation over splendid dinners, meandering bike rides, floating down a river, intergenerational speculation and reflection, the promise for more. Lucy, San Francisco.

We had a wonderful time here this weekend.  We especially enjoyed the wonderful treats from your garden.  Your house is beautiful--you have done an impressive job with all the handcrafted woodwork.  Good luck and we hope to come back soon!  Jim and Dorota, Chicago.

Thanks for a wonderfully relaxing week!  The place is awesome.--Tim, Milwaukee, WI

Dear Frank and Nancy--This has been a wonderful vacation.  Thanks for everything you do that makes it so special.  It makes a wonderful experience, that everything we touch and use is so high quality, from the linens to the kitchen utensils to the bikes.  It's both simple and opulent at the same time.  Thanks for your thoughtfulness in all regards.  Hope to be back!  Linda, Milwaukee, WI
