Cycling

Sugar River Bike Trail - Description of the 23-mile-long trail
that passes close to the Little Sugar River Farm.

The Badger State Trail - Currently under construction, the 40-mile
Badger State Trail will extend from Madison Wisconsin to Illinois,
linking with the Sugar River Trail near Monticello. Once this trail is
completed, you will be able to cycle from the Little Sugar River Farm
north to Madison or south to Illinois without ever having to leave a
recreational trail. Although the trail is not yet open for cycling,
portions of it can be walked.

- Southern Wisconsin has many excellent
galleries and studios with tours.
Mineral
Point, in particular, is an excellent day trip for visiting galleries,
and nearby Paoli also has several excellent studios. Here are

MINERAL POINT has become a magnet for
artists--similar to Galena, without the frenzy. Like Galena, it's a
beautiful town to visit, with many of the original limestone buildings
intact. The town's

Alley Center for the Arts. Hands-on workshops with talented
instructors are offered throughout the year.
Each fall, during the third weekend in October, artists open their
studio doors and demonstrate their craft for visitors on the
Fall Art
Tour. Now in its 12th season, the Fall Art Tour celebrates
the work and lifestyles of some of Wisconsin's best-known artists,
working in unique studios - an historic brewery, restored downtown
buildings, and an old schoolhouse just to name a few. Maps and tour
information are available at the Mineral Point tour headquarters,
Chamber office, or any participating gallery.
FRANK POLIZZI - The Mulberry
Pottery. Over 27 years of functional stoneware and porcelain; wood
fired, wheel thrown, and hand decorated with indigenous lead-free

- The beef, lamb, and pork we cook with comes from
nearby Jordandal Farm, a
husband and wife farm which offers a wide range of naturally raised
products. Their animals include pasture-raised Scottish Highland beef
cattle, Icelandic Lamb, chickens and turkeys, brown egg layers and
pigs. Their livestock are free of synthetic hormones, antibiotics, and
animal by-products, and are humanely treated. They welcome visits, so
you can go see where your meat came from, and you can buy more to
bring home with you.
